Baumholder Fire Station (Source: Benno Knorr) The Baumholder fire station on Smith Barracks - date unknown. The Idar Oberstein, Nahbollenbach and Neubrücke fire stations reported to the Baumholder station, which was the main station and also the Post Fire Chief and Fire Marshal. Except for the Strassburg station, all had pure German crews. Idar Oberstein had one German and 4 US soldiers assigned to it.
